What if meditation wasn’t about escaping your thoughts?
What if it was about becoming more aware of what is happening within you — while it is happening?
Your thoughts.
Your emotions.
Your body.
Your attention.
Your reactions.
And the quiet awareness underneath all of it.
Coherence is the ability to remain connected to yourself even while thoughts, emotions, sensations, and circumstances change.
The Coherence Standard is a six-week training program designed to help you develop that ability.
Rather than simply teaching you how to relax during meditation, the program gives you practical ways to recognize what is happening within your own system and intentionally return to a more stable, aware state.
The goal is not to control every circumstance.
The goal is to become less controlled by them.
A Different Approach to Meditation
Many meditation practices focus primarily on achieving a particular state: calm, stillness, relaxation, silence.
Those states can be valuable.
But life rarely remains calm, still, or silent.
The Coherence Standard approaches meditation as training for awareness in everyday life.
You will practice noticing where your attention goes, how your body responds, how emotional reactions develop, and how quickly you can recognize when you have moved away from your own center.
Over time, the practice becomes less about what happens while your eyes are closed and more about how you meet the rest of your life.
This Program May Be For You If…
You feel internally rushed, scattered, overstimulated, or pulled in multiple directions.
You want to respond more intentionally instead of automatically reacting.
You have tried meditation before but struggle to carry the benefits into everyday life.
You want to better understand your nervous system and the signals your body is giving you.
You are interested in developing greater intuition while maintaining grounded discernment.
You are curious about expanded states of consciousness, lucid dreaming, out-of-body exploration, or other consciousness practices and want to build a stronger foundation first.
Or perhaps nothing feels particularly “wrong.”
You simply sense that there is more awareness available to you than you are currently accessing.
What You’ll Explore Over Six Weeks
The Coherence Standard is progressive. Each lesson develops a different aspect of awareness and builds upon the previous work.
Week 1 — Directed Awareness
Begin recognizing the difference between moving through life automatically and consciously directing your awareness.
Learn to notice where your attention is going before attempting to change it.
Week 2 — The Body’s System
Develop greater awareness of the physical signals that occur before stress, emotion, and reaction become overwhelming.
Begin learning how the body communicates information long before the thinking mind interprets it.
Week 3 — Attention
Explore attention as a trainable ability.
Notice what captures it, what fragments it, and how intentionally returning your attention begins to change your experience.
Week 4 — Emotional Stability
Practice remaining present while emotion moves through the body.
The objective is not emotional suppression.
It is developing greater capacity to experience emotion without immediately becoming directed by it.
Week 5 — Identity & Intention
Explore the relationship between attention, identity, expectation, and the way you interpret experience.
Begin recognizing which internal patterns belong to you — and which ones you may simply have learned.
Week 6 — Integration
Bring the individual practices together.
Learn how coherence can become an ongoing internal reference point for decisions, relationships, communication, creativity, and daily life.
Three Minutes a Day
The daily practice for The Coherence Standard is intentionally small.
Approximately three minutes.
Why?
Because transformation rarely comes from doing something intensely for a short period of time.
It comes from repeatedly noticing.
Repeatedly returning.
Repeatedly choosing.
Three minutes creates something that can realistically become part of your everyday life.
The longer-term goal is not to become someone who is good at meditation.
It is to become someone who recognizes their own internal state more quickly — and knows how to work with it.
What You May Begin to Notice
Everyone experiences the program differently.
The goal is not to promise a particular emotional state or outcome.
Instead, the practice develops skills that may begin showing up in surprisingly ordinary moments.
You may notice that you recognize stress sooner.
That you catch yourself reacting before the reaction fully takes over.
That you can identify what you are actually feeling more clearly.
That your body becomes easier to listen to.
That your attention becomes easier to direct.
That you begin distinguishing intuitive information from fear, expectation, or mental noise.
Or simply that there is slightly more space between what happens and what you do next.
That space is where choice begins.
What’s Included
Your six-week enrollment includes:
Six weekly in-person sessions at The Quantum I
Structured lessons exploring awareness, attention, nervous-system regulation, emotional stability, identity, and integration.
Experiential meditation practice
Each session includes direct practice rather than information alone.
Simple daily exercises
Short practices designed to integrate what you are learning into everyday life.
Reflection and journaling exercises
Prompts that help you recognize patterns and observe changes in your experience over time.
A structured progression
Each lesson builds upon the previous one so you are developing a practice rather than collecting disconnected techniques.
A Foundation for Consciousness Exploration
For some people, The Coherence Standard begins as a practical meditation program.
For others, it becomes preparation for deeper consciousness exploration.
Practices involving intuition, lucid dreaming, expanded awareness, altered states, and out-of-body exploration all involve the ability to observe experience without immediately reacting to it.
The more stable your awareness becomes, the easier it can be to explore unusual experiences while maintaining discernment.
This is why The Coherence Standard can serve as a valuable foundation for people interested in experiential consciousness methodologies, including those later explored through organizations such as The Monroe Institute.
The Coherence Standard is an original program of The Quantum I and is not a Monroe Institute program.
Its purpose is to help you develop the internal skills that can support many different forms of meditation and consciousness exploration.
Meet Your Instructor
Holly Vernon
The Coherence Standard was developed by Holly Vernon, founder of The Quantum I in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Holly's work focuses on experiential approaches to awareness and consciousness — helping people move beyond simply learning about these subjects and begin directly observing their own experience.
She is also a Monroe Institute Outreach Trainer and leads the Northwest Arkansas Monroe Community Group.
The Coherence Standard brings together structured meditation, attention training, body awareness, nervous-system observation, and practical consciousness exploration into one progressive methodology.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need meditation experience?
No.
The program is designed to work whether you have never meditated before or already have an established practice.
Experienced meditators may find that the emphasis on awareness, attention, embodiment, and integration offers a different way of approaching familiar practices.
Is this a guided meditation course?
The program includes experiential meditation practices, but The Coherence Standard is broader than a guided meditation series.
The emphasis is on understanding what you are experiencing and developing skills you can use independently.
Is this primarily a stress-reduction program?
Stress regulation may be one benefit, but it is not the entire purpose of the program.
The Coherence Standard is ultimately about developing greater awareness of your internal state and increasing your ability to consciously direct your attention and response.
Is this a spiritual program?
You do not need to hold any particular spiritual or philosophical belief to participate.
Some people approach the program through personal growth or nervous-system regulation.
Others are interested in intuition, consciousness, or spiritual exploration.
The practices themselves are experiential.
You are encouraged to observe what you experience and arrive at your own conclusions.
Can this help prepare me for lucid dreaming or out-of-body exploration?
The Coherence Standard does not teach lucid dreaming or out-of-body techniques directly.
However, skills such as sustained attention, body awareness, emotional stability, observation, and discernment can provide a valuable foundation for people interested in those practices.
Where is the program held?
The program is held in person at:
The Quantum I
Bentonville, Arkansas
How much time does the program require?
Approximately one hour each week for the group session, plus a short daily practice of approximately three minutes.
Consistency is more important than spending large amounts of time practicing.
The Practice Is Simple.
Notice.
Return.
Choose again.
Over six weeks, those small moments begin to add up.
You begin noticing yourself sooner.
You begin recognizing what is happening before automatically responding to it.
And awareness gradually becomes something you can access not only while meditating — but while living.
